美术界最早触及到全球化与本土化的问题据本人掌握的资料显示,国内的《画廊》杂志在1994年第4期以“从威尼斯到圣保罗——部分在京的批评家、艺术家谈中国当代艺术的国际价值”为题所刊发的内容,从“中国话题”“国际话题”“国际规则”“国际价值”“后殖民主义”等角度和话题人手,探讨了中阁当代艺术初出国门带来的经验和感受。当时该刊的责任编辑黄专先生还写了编前导语,
The issue of Globalization has emerged from Chinese intellectual sphere and academic sphere since the late 90s of last century. "Global Localization" means admitting local culture as one part of world~ s cul- tures under the premise of keeping independence, which also means a larger internal demand of culture existing beside their own cultural context. Culture differences do not mean the culture hostility, and tradi- tional culture is not an absolute, static and essence concept. GIobalization is not a simple unidirectional concept of foreign culture' s invasion, but a status or a constant process that different cultures repel, collide, run, absorb with each other. After understanding this truth, perhaps we can have an objective judgement of globalization and localization.
