On Public Vacation System from the Song to the Qing Dynasty

中国古代由宋至清的公休制度出现了与前代不同的变化。宋代就节假日种类的繁多、体系的齐备、制度的完善而言,在中国历史上达到了巅峰状态。此后官方的休假政策步步收紧,由于所需治理的事物渐趋繁多,官方管理体系更为严密。中国古代休假制度的发展变化折射着古代社会的变化和统治者的管理策略,并直接影响着官方的务公效率和官吏公余的个人休闲生活。

The public vacation system from the Song to the Qing Dynasty in ancient China was different from that of the previous periods.In the Chinese history,the Song Dynasty reached its summit in terms of variety,comprehensive system and perfect institutions of holidays.Since then,official vacation system was tightened gradually,due to increasing amount of affairs to be handled and more strict administration system.The development of public vacation system in ancient China reflected the social changes and administrative strategies and also influenced efficiency of official administration as well as personal leisure of officers of the ancient times.
