Objective: To evaluate the proportion of CD4+CD25+ regulatory T cells(Treg) in the peripheral blood of patients with lung cancer before and after surgery and observe the relationship between CD4+CD25+ Treg and tumor immunity. Methods: Flow cytometer was used to analyze the level of CD4+CD25 +Treg in the peripheral blood. Results:The proportion of CD4+CD25+Treg was significantly lower in patients with lung cancer after surgery [ (13.27± 3.15)%] than before surgery [(19.76±3.42)% ](P〈0.05). The proportion of CD4+CD25+ Treg was significantly higher in patients with lung cancer before surgery compared with healthy donors[(10.46±2.87)% ] (P〈0.05), while there was no more significant difference in patients with lung cancer after surgery than in healthy donors (P〉0.05). Conclusions: The level of CD4+CD25+ Treg in the peripheral blood of patients with lung cancer is significantly down- regulated after surgery, while the immune function is obviously resumed and the immune response to tumor enhanced.
