Cultural Awareness and New Rural Construction

改革开放以来,中国农村发生了翻天覆地的变化,农民的生活水平有了很大的提高。在新农村建设中,经济的发展、民主的建设虽说是新农村建设的主要内容,但是文化建设往往表现为更为核心的要素,因为它直接影响着农村的基层民主建设以及经济的可持续发展,也会影响到作为现代民主国家所要求的公民社会的培育。面对着文化建设的紧迫性,"文化自觉"作为满含实践意向的理论概念,对于新农村建设无疑具有理论与实践的指导意义。

Since the reform and opening up, Chinese rural areas have been changed greatly, especially in peasants living stands. But during the process of Construction of New Countryside, cultural construction become one problem to rural modernization, which is the main factor related to construction of grassroots level, economic developing sustainably and fostering the civil society according to the modern democracy＇ s claims. So facing the importance of cultural construction, cultural awareness, as a practical theory, is a key factor for Chinese peasants to aware their cultural weakness, keep pace with modern culture and locate their position.
