由于鲁迅的翻译和热情传播,厨川白村的《苦闷的象征》在20世纪二三十年代的中国产生巨大影响。鲁迅翻译《苦闷的象征》的直接动机是在北京大学等高校讲授文学理论课的需要,其深层动机则借《苦闷的象征》宣泄自己内心的苦闷,传播自己的文艺思想。探讨鲁迅翻译、传播、阐释《苦闷的象征》的多元动机,为深入研究鲁迅前后期文艺思想的变化提供了一条全新的线索。

Because of Lu Xun＇s translation and enthusiastic spread,Kuriyagawa Hakuson＇s The Symbol of Depression influenced China in the 1930s.His translation was directly motivated by his need of teaching literary theories in collages and universities,such as Beijing University.But his deep motivation was to vent his inner infliction and spread his literary ideas.It provides a new clue for the research of Lu Xun＇s literary theoretical changes to explore Lu Xun＇s multiple motivations of translation,spread and intepertaion of The Symbol of Depression.
