摘要
在电子媒体时代,英语报刊的一个突出特征是广泛运用图文隐喻,借助人们所熟悉的概念或图式构建、灌输和宣扬西方价值体系,因为隐喻是构建话语框架体系,塑造思想的重要工具。藉此,本文以"外媒中多模态隐喻构建的中国形象"这一教研课题为例,介绍和展示英语报刊阅读的批评隐喻教学模式的实施过程。教学实践表明,选取英语报刊中的多模态隐喻涉华语篇作为训练我国学生批判性思维的素材是一个行之有效的教学模式。
At the age of electronic media, one of the distinguishing features of English newspapers is the extensive use of ver- bal-pictorial metaphors, which employ familiar concepts and schemata to construct, infuse and plant western value system. Metaphor is employed as an important tool to construct discourse framework system and shape thought. Therefore, this paper takes the teaching topic of China' s image built by the foreign media with multimodal metaphor as a case to introduce and illus- trate how the critical metaphor pedagogy can be implemented in English newspaper reading course. Teaching practice shows that it is an effective teaching approach to choose multimodal metaphorical discourses in relevance to China in English news- papers as materials to cultivate students' critical thinking.
