This paper introduces major achievements in Guangdong's science and technology in 1999 from the aspects of the stipulation and implementation of science and technology policies, reformation of the science and technology system, technological innovation, development of new and high\|tech industries, protection of intellectual property rights, transformation of science and technology achievements, administration according to law, construction of material and spiritual civilization, in an attempt to show the advancement of science and technology are prorplling the economic and social development in Guangdong.
