欣苑小区视频点播系统是一套面向中、小规模网络设计的实时系统 ,它采用了国际互联网技术作为多媒体信息服务的基础 ,服务器端使用WindowsNTServer,用户终端安装Windows95/98和标准Web浏览器 ,加自行开发的实时VoD系统服务器端软件 ,客户端标准插件 ,可以保证用户在熟悉的Web浏览器环境中检索 ,访问局域网中的各种多媒体资源和实时点播视频节目 ,同时支持与Internet直接连接 ,使小区住户充分利用己有的软、硬件技术和资源 ,并且使得小区网络管理人员能方便容易地制作。

Video on Demand(VoD) System in Xin Yuan Block is a realtime system designed for small and medium sized networks, using Internetworking technology as the basis of multimedia information service. At the server end, Windows 95/98 and standard Web browser is used, plus the self developed real time VoD system server end software and standard client end components. It ensures that, customers can search in the familiar Web browser environment, visit various kinds of multimedia resources in the LAN and watch the VoD programs in real time. Also, the system has the support for connecting with internet directly, so that the residents in Xin Yuan block can fully utilize the existing software and hardware technology and resources, and that the network administrator in the block can produce and add VoD programs conveniently.
