Psychological Analysis of Tragic Love in Hardy’s Novels

长期以来,对哈代小说婚恋悲剧的研究主要围绕小说人物性格和社会环境进行。在本文中,作者一改传统做法,从心理学角度出发,结合作家写作的社会婚恋现实和个人婚恋经历,分析了哈代小说人物婚恋悲剧的七大心理特征,并阐发了其启发意义,为研究哈代作品提供更多的参考。

For a long time,most studies on tragic love of Thomas Hardy’s novels have been done from two dimensions,that is,personal character and social environment.In an endeavor to give some insights to Hardy’s works,this essay adopts a psychological perspective to explore causes to those tragies,in consideration of the writer’s personal histories of love and marriage,and the context of those stories.The essay concludes that there are seven psychological factors leading to the tragies.
