This paper introduces and analyzes some examples of domestic and foreign macroscopic void water gates.Combined the characteristics of Poyang Lake Water Control Project＇s high head obstruct water and large amplitude water level and satisfying the requirement of cowfish＇s moving between rivers and lakes,the selection is made from the suitability,reliability,advanced,aesthetics and feasibility of these plans.The type of upturning sector retroflexion water gate is recommended for the gate of Poyang Lake Water Control Project＇s macroscopic void water gate.
