摘要 To the editor: Amniotic fluid embolism (AFE), first described by Meyer in 1926, is a sporadic and unpredictable obstetriccomplication. The incidence of AFE ranges between 2.0 per 100 000 in the United Kingdom1 to 7.7 per 100 000 deliveries in the United States.2 The maternal mortality ratio associated with AFE ranges between 0.5-1.7 deaths per 100 000 live births or deliveries in developed countries.3 AFE is a leading cause of maternal mortality.
