摘要
传统的 VOD系统大多使用单服务器结构 ,由于其系统结构的原因 ,在扩展性和容错性等方面受到一定限制 ,因此人们提出了分布式并行视频服务器 (DPVS)结构 .这种结构的关键是将视频数据按带状 (striping)分布在多个服务器上 .从而实现服务能力扩展和服务器级容错 .本文对设计 DPVS的一些关键技术进行讨论 ,包括服务器分带策略、视频分布结构、传输协议、磁盘调度和回取控制、缓存控制、允许控制和资源分配 .
One common architecture shared by most traditional VOD system is a single server model. However, the single server approach has limitations of scalability and fault tolerance because of its system architecture. So the distributed parallel video server (DPVS) architecture is brought forward. The base of DPVS is video data striping on servers. It can extend the capacity and fault tolerance of servers. In this paper, we will discuss the key technology of DPVS in which contain server striping policies, video distribution architectures, delivery protocols, disk schedule and retrieval control, buffer control, admission control and resource allocation.
