An Exploration of the Forces behind the Real Author with a Structural Analysis on The Heart of Darkness

《黑暗的心》主题思想有很大的不确定性,小说一方面描述了非洲地区的落后状况和非洲人民的愚昧无知,流露出"欧洲中心主义"思想;另一方面,小说又揭露了欧洲殖民者压榨非洲人民的行径,具有反殖民主义特征。分析这看似矛盾的思想背后隐藏的作者意图,是想通过采用独特的叙事结构隐藏作者的真实意图,以避免叙述者的主观评价;同时,小说通过含蓄暗示和客观展示的表现手法,对当时英国人狂热的"殖民热潮"进行了讽刺,揭露了殖民主义的罪恶。

The moral tendency of The Heart of darkness is confusing since it exposes the colonizers＇ exploi- tation and persecution on the colonized people, on the other hand and at the same time it reflects a sense of Euro- centrism through the vivid portrait of the undeveloped conditions and savage tribal conventions. This paper aims to probe the reasons for the ambiguity through an analysis of its narrative structure, to reveal the forces that make the author create such ambiguities.
