Li Jieren’s Thoughts on Translation of French Literature

李劼人所翻译的法国文学作品基本上采用方言化的白话文(官话)。李劼人对翻译作品的选择,虽然较多是法国的小说名著或者某位作家的代表作,但也会选择自己熟悉而热爱的文学作品。李劼人接受了严复关于信、达、雅的翻译思想,较多强调了跨语际的文化交往上的比较意义。

Li Jieren＇ s translation of French literary works basically uses the dialect of vernacular Chinese （Mandarin）. Most of Li Jieren＇ s choices are French literary masterpieces, as well as his beloved works which Li Jieren was familiar with. Li Jieren generally accepted Yan Fu＇ s translation thought： faithfulness, expressiveness and elegance, and emphasized more on culture comparison in the intedingual literary translation.
