Correlative Connection of Alzheimer's Disease and Osteoporosis

随着我国人口平均寿命的延长及人口老龄化的发展,高龄人群逐渐增多,老年病常会多病共存、病因复杂、长期积累、多属慢性退行性疾病。而老年痴呆症和骨质疏松症皆是老年病的多发病种,其发病率日渐增加。因此,从中医和西医角度探讨骨质疏松和老年认知功能障碍的相互关系是非常有意义的。老年痴呆症与骨质疏松症从中医角度责之于肾虚髓减,而脑、精髓的联系则是从生化因子水平上的联系,其中精髓就是指肾精化生的对骨骼生长发育具有营养作用的一类"髓"物质。

As our country population life expectancy and the development of an aging population, aged population is gradually increasing.Some senile diseases often coexist, with a complex etiology and long-term accumulation which mainly belong to chronic degenerative disease.But the Alzheimer＇s disease and osteoporosis are frequently-occurring diseases. Its incidence is increasing.Therefore, discussion on correlation between osteoporosis and senile cognitive impairment from the perspective of traditional Chinese and Western medicine is very meaningful.Alzheimer＇s disease and osteoporosis in Chinese medicine are due to deficiency of kidney and brain, and the relation of brain and essence is the biochemical factors.The essence refers to the material that kidney essence which can promote the growth and development of bone.
