On Florovsky’s Participation and Reflection in Eurasianism

弗洛罗夫斯基是俄罗斯著名的宗教哲学家,是十月革命后流亡海外的俄国侨民知识分子的杰出代表。侨居保加利亚时,弗洛罗夫斯基与三位志同道合的俄国学者一起开创了以东正教文化传统为理论基础的欧亚主义思潮。虽然弗洛罗夫斯基和欧亚主义思潮之间的关系至今仍未定论,但作为创始人之一,弗洛罗夫斯基确实参与了欧亚主义早期重要文献的创作,而且在对待欧洲文化和俄国革命的态度上,他的观点与早期古典欧亚主义的思想是基本一致的。但随着欧亚主义思潮的政治倾向日益明显和宗教内容逐渐减少,弗洛罗夫斯基与欧亚主义者之间产生了严重的思想分歧。最终,弗洛罗夫斯基选择与欧亚主义决裂,对其进行了深刻的反思,在批判欧亚主义思潮偏离东正教作为精神核心的指引作用的同时,特别强调了东正教传统对俄国未来发展的重要性。

Georges Vasilievich Florovsky is a famous Russian religious philosopher and a prominent representative of Russian intellectuals, who lived in exile after the October revolution. When he lived in Bulgaria, Florovsky and three other like-minded Russian scholars together initiated the Eurasianism, which is based on orthodox cultural tradition. Although the relationship between Florovsky and Eurasianism still remains unresolved, still as one of the founders, Florovsky did participate in the early literature of the Eurasianism. Meanwhile, in dealing with European culture and Russian revolution, his viewpoints are basically the same as the early classical Eurasianism. However, with the increasingly evident political tendencies of the Eurasianism and gradual decreasing religious content, serious ideological divisions between Florovsky and Eurasianists arose. Eventually, Florovsky declared to break finally with the Eurasianism and reflected profoundly on the Eurasianism. He criticized that the Eurasianism had deviated from the guidelines role of the Orthodox as a spiritual core, and especially emphasized on the importance of orthodox tradition for Russian future development.
