Butterfly Effect and Universal Ethics

"蝴蝶效应"是混沌学的一个科学发现,并逐渐映射到社会学范畴,中华文明对此也有自己的理解。人类社会和自然界都是复杂非线性的混沌系统,东西方意识形态和经济发展路径的差异,进一步加大了全球化背景下世界经济、社会、文化生态的混沌性,极易引发政治、经济、军事领域的蝴蝶效应。深入研究蝴蝶效应,会帮助人们了解社会系统的脆弱性,发现现行伦理科学的局限性,用科学发展观、各民族博大的文化遗存和西方现代科学理性,打造具有社会性、科学性、包容性、开放性的普世伦理,摒弃冷战思维、对抗思维,推动全球包容发展。

＂Butterfly effect＂ is a scientific discovery of Chaology and casts light upon sociology gradually, of which Chinese civilization has its own understanding. Human society and nature are both complex nonlinear chaotic systems. The differences of ideology and economic development path between the East and the West enlarge the chaotic character of the world economy, society and cultural ecology against the background of globalization, which will easi- ly lead to the butterfly effect in the political, economic and military fields. In-depth study of the butterfly effect is helpful to understand the vulnerability of the social system and find out the limitations of the existing science of eth- ics. It is suggested to build universal ethics with features of sociality, scientificity, inclusiveness and openness by adopting the scientific outlook on development, cultural heritage of all nationalities and modern western scientific rationality and promote global inclusive development by abandoning Cold War mentality and adversarial thinking.
