21世纪的中国书法不仅要在传承上努力讨生活,还应当有所创新,有所突破,有所拓展。当今"水墨书法"已成为中国书法发展中一个重要门类,"水墨书法"具有"现代书法"属性,但它又有别于"现代书法",它具有其墨韵、书写性和形式感三大艺术主要特征。"水墨书法"的出现顺应了大艺术发展规律的,水墨书法作品的创作已体现时代特征和个人的思想,并通过各类展览进入神圣的艺术殿堂,被更多的阅读者所接受和欣赏。

In the 21 st century, Chinese calligraphy should not only work hard on inheritance, but also have innovation, breakthrough and development. The ＂ink painting calligraphy＂ has become an important aspect in the development of Chinese calligraphy. It owns ＂modern calligraphy＂ attributes, but it is different from the ＂modern calligra- phy＂ because of its three artistic features： the charm of Chinese ink, the characteristic of writing and the sense of form. The appearance of ＂ink painting calligraphy＂ conforms to the law of development of big art. Its creation has shown era characteristic and individual thought. Furthermore, having entered the sacred art halls through all kinds of exhibition, the ＂ink painting calligraphy＂ has been accepted and appreciated by more readers.
