学术文本中的语言形式共选——基于语料库的实证研究

摘要 本文基于NEW-JDEST语料库,描述与概括学术英语文本中的共选机制。语料库证据显示,共选是学术作者选择语言形式来实现经验、立场和组织意义的核心机制。规约性渗透至语言使用的不同方面,涵盖三个层面上的共选:词汇-语法层面上的共选、学科领域上的共选、以及元语篇层面上的共选。共选机制反映出形式、意义与语境的和谐统一,是对"扩展意义单位"理论的进一步探讨与细化,也体现了短语序列作为学术语篇意义实现的核心承载,是形式与意义共同塑造的结果。 Based on the NEW-JDEST corpus, this paper describes and generalizes the co-selection mechanism in English academic texts. The corpus evidence suggests that co-selection is at the very heart of choosing language forms to realize experiential, stance, and organizational meanings in academic text produc-tion. Conventionality prevails into every aspect of language use, and co-selection is going on at three levels :the lexico-grammati- cal level, the research discipline level, and the meta-discoursal level. The co-selection mechanism may provide strong indica- tions that form, meaning and context are essentially an integrated whole and also lend support to the justifiability and applicability of the "extended units of meaning". The co-selection also re-veals that the phraseological sequence, as the normal primary carder of meaning in academic texts ,is actually the place where structures are engineered to allow meanings to take shape.
