摘要
新城市主义是美国90年代促进邻里和地区健康发展、提高生活质量的运动，它在一定程度上影响了北美当今的城市建设。本文主要介绍新城市主义产生发展以及主要的理论与实践，分析该思潮的理论来源和今后的发展前景，以及对于中国现阶段的城市设计的种种启示。
The New Urbanism is the activity in order to promote the neighborhood and region to develop healthily. It has exerted relevant influences on the urban constructions in North America. The paper introduces the development of the New Urbanism with its theories and practices, and analyzes the resource of its ideology and prospects in the future. Finally its enlightenment to the present Chinese urban design is summarized.
