Marx's “People-Centered” Idea and Its Modern Significance

马克思主义唯物史观认为人的存在是人类历史的前提和基础,并进一步肯定人的社会实践活动是推动历史进步的重要力量。从科学发展观中"以人为本"核心的确立到十八大报告中进一步强调"以人为本",强调执政为民的重要性,这不仅是中国特色社会主义理论的不断丰富,也是对马克思"以人为本"思想的创新和发展。

It is thought by Marxist historical materialism that human existence is the precondition and foun- dation of human history and human social practice is an important force to promote the progress of history. The idea of ＂people centeredness＂, first included in the Scientific Outlook on Development, is further em- phasized in the 18th CPC National Congress report. Such an emphasis reflects the importance of governing for the people. This not only enriches the theories on the construction of socialism with Chinese character- istics, but also innovates and develops Marx＇s idea of ＂people centeredness＂.
