The 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake had a great impact on architects. The earthquake made a group of post- 70s architects who were once away from the society start actively establishing the channel to return to the concern about social issues. As a new attempt after the disaster, some simple and compact housing projects returning to the architectural origin have been implemented. This article selects some post-70s and post-80s architects in Hokkaido, the Tohoku Area, Tokyo, Tokai, Kansai, Sanyo and Kyushu and other areas of Japan, and introduces their housing works. Aside from their avant-garde geometric design approaches and novel concepts for housing forms, the adorable impression often conveyed by this new generation of architects in their ~,orks is also praiseworthy.
