It was said that the presence of aflatoxin B 1 (AFB 1) in traditional Chinese medicinal materials and preparations was of common occurrence. In order to clarify the truth of such saying, the use of enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) to determine the occurrence of AFB 1 in a number of Chinese medicinal samples was carried out. Result of the determination showed that the positive rate and contents of AFB 1 were indeed rather high, necessary to alert our deep concern
