Objective To explore the effective measures epidemic through the observation and analysis on the HFMD incidence was collected from China information to control hand - foot - and - mouth disease (HFMD) effects of drinking water disinfection. Methods The system for diseases control attd prevention. The drink- rate of Luanxian in 2010 was 23.40/,100 000, which was less than 61.76/100 000 in 2009 (X2 = 1 728.65, P 〈 0. 01 ) . The control rates of drinking water disinfection to cluster eases were significantly higher than that of conventional epidemiologieal measures. Conclusions The drinking water disinfection measures can effectively control the eoidemic and outbreak of HFMD_
