Unadorned Water and Undulating Ripples — A Study on Temporary Value of Fung Yu-lan’s Translation Thoughts

冯友兰是我国著名的哲学家,他在其英文著作《中国哲学简史》以及英译本《庄子》的序言中提出诸多融贯中西并且具有前瞻性的翻译思想,这些思想对我国译学理论的丰富和建构具有重要的启发作用。本文从冯友兰的翻译本质观、翻译伦理观、翻译意识形态观和翻译"名实"观对其翻译思想进行总体考究。

Fung Yu-lan is a famous Chinese philosopher. In his English works, A Short History of Chinese Philosophy, and the preface of his English version, Chuang-tzu, he puts forward some enlightening translation thoughts, and these thoughts are beneficial for enriching and constructing China＇ s translation theories. This article makes an overall research on his translation thoughts from different perspectives, including his outlooks on the essence of translation, the ethics of translation, the ideology of translation and the name and notion of translation.
