摘要
预言性语言是对下文起预示和概括作用的语言,有助于语篇的整体连贯。本文采用Robinson的理论框架设计复杂度不同的写作任务,试图从注意资源分配的维度研究任务复杂度是否对学习者语篇能力产生影响。以预言性语言作为衡量整体连贯的指标,并以内容丰富性为参照,对120篇作文进行了差异比较和相关分析。研究结果发现,资源分配上的不同会对预言性语言的使用产生影响,但这种影响并不是简单的直线型。文章最后针对"认知假设"进行了讨论。
Predictive language can preview and encapsulate its following context,and promote the global coherence.Based on the framework of Robinson's Cognition Hypothesis,three writing tasks varying in resource dispersing are designed to investigate whether task complexity affects English learners'competence at discourse level.The predictive language in 120 expositions is analyzed and compared to examine the degree of global coherence.The results show that task complexity in resource dispersing affected task performance,and that the least complex task best facilitates the production of predictive language.However,the influence is not simply linear,but more complicated than predicted by Robinson's hypothesis on task complexity.Cognition Hypothesis is discussed at the end of this paper.
