南阳汉画像石(砖)中的射箭题材可分为狩猎、神话、射礼演化等三个类型。狩猎又可根据其形态分为立射、跪射、弋射和骑射。神话的题材有羽人射兔、羿射十日、蹶张等。投壶是射礼的演化形式。射箭题材的画像石(砖)是汉代贵族生活、宗教信仰的真实写照。
