As one of the most important carriers for the dissemination of drama, Chongqing drama journals during the Anti-Japanese War period witnessed the entire process of drama creation, drama theoretical criticism and development of Anti-Japanese War drama movement. Chongqing drama journals had distinct evolutional characteristics in the distribution of time, authors, editors, publications of the aesthetic orientation and content. During the Anti-Japanese War period Chongqing drama journals were the most direct and important historical witness comparing to national drama development and evolution in the corresponding period, which promoted the development of drama movement.
