外宣翻译的名与实——张健教授访谈录

The Name and Nature of Translation for China’s Global Communication——An Interview with Professor Zhang Jian of Shanghai International Studies University

本文是对张健教授的访谈录,其中涉及外宣翻译中很多重要话题,诸如外宣翻译的定义、范围、特点、翻译、性质、不足和未来发展等。张教授认为外宣翻译有广义与狭义之分,与传统的文学翻译相比,它具有自己不同的特征,是一种更加关注目标受众和信息传达的特殊翻译形式。此外,张教授提倡外宣译者须坚持理论与实践相结合。针对外宣翻译存在的质量问题,他认为译者应深入研究中外受众思维差异,形成行之有效的翻译理论,在中国文化"走出去"中有所作为。

This article is an interview with Prof. Zhang Jian of Shanghai International Studies University. The interview involves many important issues such as the definition, scope, features, nature, pitfalls and prospect of Translation for China＇s Global Communication. Prof. Zhang holds that Translation for China＇s Global Communication has its broad sense and narrow sense and that compared with literal translation, it has its distinct features and is a special form of translation aiming at target receptors and focusing on information transfer. Moreover, he thinks that the translator should study the different modes of thinking between the domestic receptors and foreign receptors and formulate an effective translation theory to tackle the translation quality problems in the Translation for China＇s Global Communication, thus combining theory and practice and making our own contribution to the ＂Going Global＂ strategy of Chinese Culture.
