On Elderly Narrative in Contemporary Literature

暮年叙事是对老年人生活境况和心理状态的书写。年龄阅历的不断累积、中国传统文化的复兴、西方存在主义哲学思想的渗透、老龄化社会的来临等等都在一定程度上激发了当代作家对于暮年叙事的浓厚兴趣。从暮年叙事作品内部来考察,不同年龄、不同阅历、不同性别的作家也表现出不同的情感基调和价值取向。暮年叙事既涉及现实社会问题,又关涉重要的生命哲学命题,它的勃兴是我们国家社会道德复兴、文明进程加快的重要标志。

Elderly narrative describes the living condition and mental state of the elderly which reflects the realization of the writers for the traditional Chinese culture, the care for underlying public life, and the comprehension for bioethical issues. The age experience continues to accumulate, the revival of traditional Chinese culture, the penetration of the Western philosophy of existentialism and the advent of an aging society all stimulate the contemporary writers ＇ interest in elderly narrative. These works also showed a different value orientation because of different ages, different experience, and different gender. On one hand elderly narrative is a real social problem, on the other hand it is also an important proposition on life philosophy. The emergence of elderly narrative is a significant sign for revival of moral in our society and country, and also an important symbol of civilization process＇ speeded - up.
