On Classical Education Focusing on Soul——Crisis of Modern Education

古典教育是面向人的灵魂的教育,它把培养有德性的人作为目标,并通过教育成全人的本性。古典教育是培养自由人的教育,它源于灵魂对知识本身的热爱,带给人的是对美好事物的幸福体验。现代教育转向对身体权利的保护,灵魂德性的培养变成了私人领域内的事,身体权利教育与灵魂德性教育的分离导致了现代教育的危机。

Classical education focuses on man＇s soul and aims to foster moralized human beings and reaches the intrinsic nature through education. Classical education cultivates free man whose soul rules over his body and it stems from the soulrs enthusiasm for knowledge itself and thus brings to man the happy experience of beautiful things. By contrast, modern education turns to protection of body right while the cultivation of soul and virtue is considered private affairs. And the divergence of education of body right from that of soul and virtue leads to the crisis of modern education.
