林译《浮生六记》中隐性评价意义的显化

The Explicitation of the Implicit Evaluational Meaning in Six Chapters of a Floating Life Translated by Lin Yutang

评价理论为翻译研究提供了新的视角。评价意义可分为隐性与显性两种。从翻译显化的角度视之,《浮生六记》林语堂英译本对隐性评价意义的显化较为普遍,包括隐性态度意义、隐性介入意义和隐性级差意义的显化。显化的原因有三:中西文化差异、汉英语言差异以及译者主体性的发挥。

The Appraisal Theory provides new perspectives into translation studies. Evaluational meaning can be divided into two categories：the implicit and the explicit. Compared to the Chinese original, Six Chapters of a Floating Life translated by Lin Yutang displays a certain feature of the explicitation of implicit evaluational meaning in all three sub-systems of the appraisal system ： attitude, engagement and gradation. The reasons for this can be analyzed from three aspects：cultural differences, linguistic differences, and subjectivity of the translator.
