The Development Trend of Index Funds and the Copping Strategies of Small and Medium-sized Fund Companies in China

我国指数基金产品分为传统指数基金产品和ETF两大类,传统指数基金产品和ETF具有不同的特点。因此,在指数基金大发展的背景下,中小型基金公司在与大型基金公司竞争时应采取差异化经营应对策略,对传统指数基金应寻找市场空白点和市场热点;对ETF应从目前较为成熟产品入手,积累ETF管理经验,关注海外ETF的发展趋势和最新进展,积极着手准备创新型ETF。

In China, index funds products can be divided into two categories： traditional index funds and ETFs. They are quite different from each other. Therefore, in the context of the development of index funds, small and medium-sized fund companies should adopt differential operating and managing strategies when competing with large fund companies. They should discover market blank and market focus for the traditional index funds. Meanwhile, as for ETFS, they should accumulate lots of management experience and pay attention to the trends and latest progress of overseas ETFs. It is also urgent for them to make preparation for the innovation of ETFs.
