试论全面领会荀子天人关系思想

On Comprehensive Understanding of Xunzi's Thought on the Relationship Between Nature and Man

荀子天人关系思想既坚持朴素唯物观念;又渗透反对片面性的朴素辩证思维。他既强调"明于天人之分""君子敬其在己者而不慕在天者",发挥人的主观能动性以应对自然,治理自然;又对象法天地自然,以及天人之间互为始终的联系给予关注。他追求的是"上得天时,下得地利,中得人和",天人和谐,人际和谐生动活泼的局面。这就既清算了听天由命的错误观念,又不至陷入"天人对抗"的另一极端。而这又得力于他的思想既继承并创造性发展了优良传统,又在争鸣中经受了锻炼,从而不仅能超越前人,站到时代的制高点,而且也给后人,乃至今天以有益的启示。

Xunzi’s thought on the relationship between nature and man,which adheres to the naive materialism idea;and goes against one-sided simple dialectical thought.He emphasized ＂Knowing the different role played between nature and man＂and ＂Gentleman paying much attention to hard working and not waiting for nature’s grace＂,giving full play to the subjective initiative to respond to and govern nature,and attaching much importance on the relationship between man and nature.He is the pursuit of＂the harmonious relationship between heaven,nature,earth＂.Thus,he corrected the wrong idea that ones fate is destined,and not to fall into＂the other extreme and confrontation＂.Hence,his thought not only inherits and creatively develops the excellent tradition,and greatly exercises in the debate,which not only can transcend predecessors,occupy the vantage point of the era,but also benefits the descendant and later generations.
