首先进行2008-2012年国内外图书馆学研究进展述要,之后探索图书馆学科发展趋势,总结出新技术对图书馆学将有持续影响、面向社会的图书馆学应用研究不断增强、数字化研究成为图书馆学研究的持续重点、图书馆学发展的多元化趋势、图书馆学发展的国际化趋势等五大学科发展趋势,最后从数字图书馆、图书馆新技术应用、信息行为与社群信息学、图书馆评估、数字素养、图书馆知识服务、阅读研究、特色文献、图书馆变革管理、战略管理与管理创新研究、知识管理与数据挖掘等方面分析图书馆学未来研究的重点领域。

Firstly,the thesis explains the research development of library science.Secondly,it explores the develop trends of library science,summarizes out five discipline development trends：new technologies will continuously influence the library science,library sciences＇ applied researches will be enhanced,digitalization will be one of the library researches＇ continuous emphasis,the library science will develop diversified,the library science will be internationalize.Lastly,the thesis forecasts the emphasis in the future from the below fields：digital library,new library technologies＇ apply,information behavior and community informatics,library evaluation,digital literacy,library＇s knowledge service,reading＇s research,special document,library change management,strategic management and management innovation research,knowledge management and data mining,etc.
