The Methodological Enlightenment of Stephen Owen’s Study on Classical Literary Theory:A Case Study on Ou Yangxiu’s Poetic Critics

对《六一诗话》,"观念史"研究之评价与宇文所安之评价,形成鲜明对比。以《六一诗话》为个案,从方法论角度分析宇文所安的中国古代文论研究,有助于研究者走出观念史研究的单一视角。宇文所安的方法论贡献在于,可还古文论研究一份人文情怀。他认为古文献的形式与内容一样重要,阅读比研究更重要。

There is a great difference between the critics on Ou Yangxiu’s poetic critics from a perspective of ＂the History of Ideas＂and those suggested by Stephen Owen.It is a great help for us to break away from the single point of view of ＂the history of ideas＂to analyze Stephen ’s study on traditional literary theory from the perspective of methodology with Ou Yangxiu’s poetic critics as a case.Stephen’s methodology also contributes to fix a focus on the humanistic thoughts and feelings in the traditional literary theory.Besides,Stephen draws our attention to the fact that the form and the content of the ancient documents are equally important,and reading is more important than academic studies.
