作为中国造园史上唯一的技术专著,计成所著《园冶》在明清众多园林文论中独树一帜。其独特之处就在于,它不仅系统介绍了中国古典园林的诸多技术手法,而且将许多文人造园的思想和理念蕴涵其中。以举例解析为主线,分析了《园冶》正文十论之开篇《兴造论》《借景》等篇的重点论句,并借此探讨《园冶》对有关因借与造景,人工与自然等问题的基本立场。

As the only summary of classical gardening techniques, Yuan Ye（Crafts of Gardens） by Ji Cheng is very unusual and may be unique in many gardening literary theory of the Ming and Qing dynasties. By example analysis, tile paper illustrates the specific writing background, and deciphers some of the key discussions in Chapter 1 （Xing Zao）, Chapter 10 （Jie Jing）, and further inquires the fundamental ideology towards the relation of borrowing and making scenery, natural scenery and man-made structures,etc.
