This paper introduces the PROFIBUS-DP field bus data communication between Siemens SIMATIC S7-300 PLC and ABB ACS800 series inverter. Focused on system configuration and communication protocols, the key technical aspects of the communication test procedure and hardware configuration in the STEP 7 programming software environment as well as the inverter parameters settings.
