A Typological Study of Comitative and Coordinative Marking

本文通过跨语言①的对比分析发现:1)在中国境内,SVO型语言中的伴随结构违反"结构和谐原则"而位于动词之前是一种很普遍的现象。2)伴随结构位于动词后的SVO型语言同样存在伴随标志向并列标志演变的现象。3)共性档案中第181条不成立。

This paper reports three main findings based on a cross-linguistic study of comitative and coordinative marking. First, there is a general tendency that comitative construction in Chinese SVO languages appears before the verb, which violates the principle of ＂harmony＂. Second, in SVO languages where a comitative construction follows the verb, it also happens that a comitative marker develops into a coordinative marker. And third, No. 181 of the Universals Archive does not hold water.
