却藏寺与佑宁寺、广惠寺、夏琼寺被誉称为黄河以北藏传佛教四大寺院。其中地处互助土族自治县境内的却藏寺是国家重点文物保护单位,它在国内藏、蒙地区乃至内地与沿海及港台、东南亚等地有深远影响和极高声誉。该寺在承载和弘扬藏传佛教文化与满足群众的信教需求、促进社会和谐等方面起了积极作用。

Choetsang Monastery,Guanghui Monastery,Youning Monastery,and Shachung Monastery are regarded as the four great Tibetan Buddhist monasteries situating at the northern part of Yellow River.Choetsang Monastery,located in Huzhu Tu Autonomous Region,is the national key cultural relic preservation unit.It has great impact and fame not only in both Tibetan and Mongolian regions,but also in other areas such as China's Mainland,coastal areas,and Hongkong and Taiwan,and Southeast Asia,etc.This Monastery has positive impacts and a high reputation in promoting Tibetan Buddhist culture and social harmony.
