Cefepime in treating hospital acquired respiratory tract infections in 31 elderly patients

目的 :评价头孢吡肟对老年人院内获得性呼吸道感染的临床疗效和安全性。方法 :院内呼吸道感染病人 31例 ,用头孢吡肟 4g/ d,分 2次 iv gtt,其中 1例肾功能减退者 ,2 g,iv,gtt qd,疗程 7～ 14d。结果 :治疗后临床有效率 77.4% ,痊愈率5 1.6 % ,细菌清除率 6 9.2 % ,不良反应少而轻微 ,发生率为 6 .5 %。结论

AIM: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of cefepime in treating hospital acquired respiratory tract infections in elderly. METHODS: Thirty one patients with respiratory tract infections were selected. Cefepime was injected in a dosage of 4 g/d for 7-14 d, twice daily. One patient with impaired renal function, cefepime was administered intravenously in a dosage of 2 g/d, once daily. RESULTS: The total effective rate, cure rate, and bacterial clearance rate were 77 4%, 51 6% and 69 2%, respectively. Adverse drug reactions, that were rare and mild, were observed in 6 5% patients. CONCLUSION: The cefepime has a good efficacy and safety for treatment of hospital acquired respiratory tract infections in elderly.
