李文田泰华楼及其藏书初探

A Tentative Exploration on Li Wen Tian's Taihua Lou and Its Collections

泰华楼是广州地区现存唯一的古代私人藏书楼,由近代学者李文田建于清代光绪初年,与当时广州一些学者的私人书斋所不同的是,泰华楼采用了模仿江南藏书楼的建筑形式,并且保存了相当数量的藏书楼专用文物。泰华楼的藏书以清代禁毁的明代人文集和西北地理史籍最具特色,虽然大部分今天已难觅踪迹,但是从近代的三种藏书纪事诗中,仍然可以看到泰华楼藏书的面貌。泰华楼所藏劫余书籍,大部分归入各大图书馆中,文章对其中部分珍本也加以考证。

Taihua Lou, established by modern scholar named Li Wen-tian in the early of Guangxu dynasty, is the only existing ancient private library in Guangzhou area. Unlike the other private studies, Taihua Lou imitates the architectural forms of pri vate libraries in Jiangnan region, and holds a fair amount of special cultural relics for library. Taihua Lou has a special collec- tion of books, which are forbidden in Qing Dynasty, dated to Ming Dynasty and documents concerning the history and geogra- phy of Northwest China. Although most of them have been disappeared, we can get an overview of it from three poems about modern Chinese book collectors. The remaining collections of Taihua Lou are kept in different libraries now. This paper studies part of the rare books from it for verification.
