中医药信息学是中医药学与信息学交叉融合产生的一门新兴学科,但是随着信息化及中医药自身发展的特点,中医药信息学从以文献为中心转化为以病人的临床数据为中心,因而形成了中医药信息学的分支学科一中医药(临床)信息学。通过阐述中医药信息学发展史、中医药信息学现状,进一步明确了中医药(临床)信息学科形成的必然趋势,同时阐述了学科的概念、研究领域、研究内容、学科的人才结构梯队、科研成果、软硬件建设、对医院信息化建设的促进作用以及学科进一步建设的前景及展望。

Traditional Chinese Medicine （TCM） Informatics is a new branch created by integration of TCM and Information Science, but with the information technology and the development character of TCM itself, the research center of TCM Informatics transformed from literature to patient＇s clinical data. So fomling TCM （clinic） informatics, which is sub discipline ofTCM Informatics. This article discussed the development history and the status of TCM Informatics. Further it cleared the forming of TCM （clinic） Informatics is inevitable trend. The same time it elaborated the concept of disciplines, research areas, research content, personnel structure echelon, achievement of scientific research, software and hardware development, the promoting of the hospital information construction and Prospects of disciplines further construction.
