摘要
本文通过对4所院校313名非英语专业学生的调查,对大学英语后续课程进行了需求分析。调查发现,50%以上的学生认为有必要压缩大学英语通用英语课时,以开设大学英语后续课程。大学英语后续课程的内容应该首选"一般学术英语",其次为"人文素养课程";大学英语后续课程最好为必修课,以2个学分为佳,开课时间最好在第一学期,其次为第三学期;最受欢迎的教材形式是"网络教材+纸质教材";最受欢迎的师资是"语言教师+专业教师"组合型师资;最受欢迎的授课方式为"网络自主学习+课堂面授"的混合式教学模式。文章最后指出大学英语教学的出路在于进行内容改革,实施基于内容的大学英语教学才能切实激发学生对大学英语课程的兴趣,继而提高教学质量。
By surveying 313 participants from 4 universities, this paper explores students requirements on College English Continuous Courses (CECCs). This survey indicates that more than 50% participants think it necessary to partially cut off general English course and add some CECCs; their favorite CECC is EAP (English for specific purpose), with ELE( English as liberal education) ranking the second; They think the best time to learn CECCs is the first term, with the third term ranking the second ; the most popular course book should be "ebook + print book" ; they would like CECCs to be taught by "language teacher + subject specialist" ; their favorite teaching model is blended teaching. In the end, this paper claims that the right way to further college English instruction reform is to change course content. Content-based Instruction can inspire students to learn English well.
