The Evolution of the American Study of Politics in the People's Republic ofChina:Accomplishments and Challenges

美国学者对中国政治的研究受到经费、研究机构和学者、资料来源等因素的影响。1949年以来,美国的中国政治研究经历了六个阶段,即20世纪50年代至60年代中期;60年代末至70年代末;80年代;1989年至90年代中期;90年代末期;21世纪以来。随着中国改革开放的深入与中美关系正常化,美国学者获得的研究资料日益增多,研究领域不断拓宽,希望今后中美两国学者合作开展中国政治研究,推动研究不断深入发展。

American scholars' study on Chinese politics has affected by funding,institutions and individuals,data sources and other factors.American study on Chinese politics since 1949 has passed through six periods;from the 1950s to mid-1960s,from the late-1960s to late-1970s,the 1980s,from 1989 to the mid-1990s,the late-1990s and the early 21st century.With the deepening of China' sreform and opening-up and the normalization of Sino-US relations,American scholars have gotten increasing access to research data,continued to broaden their fields of study and hoped Sino-US scholars could cooperatively carry out China ' s political study and promote in-depth development of study.
