The Buddhist Calligraphy has engendered after Buddhism was introduced into China and exercised great influence on the Chinese traditional calligraphy.As an important part of the Buddhist Calligraphy,the Calligraphy of Buddhist Monks was not given due attention.The analysis of its spirit and the comparative study of the types will be conducive to comprehending the internal connection of Buddhism and Calligraphy,and the penetration and influence of the aesthetic spirit of Buddhism on psychology and forms of calligraphic creation.What this paper discusses is the forming factors and the evolution of the Calligraphy of Buddhist Monks.
