摘要
中西方思维方式、价值观念、社会习俗、宗教信仰、心理状态及文化背景知识差异,造成了文化空缺。文化空缺导致了翻译的困境。本文从跨文化交流角度,专门论述了中国菜名英译的文化空缺现象,并分析了中国菜名翻译文化空缺的原因和分类,并针对不同的文化空缺现象提出可行的五种英译策略,促进跨文化交流。
The differences between China and the west in thinking, values, social customs, religious beliefs, state of mind and cultural background result in cultural vacancy, which leads to translation plight. From a cross-cultural perspective, the thesis is devoted to cultural vacancy in Chinese dish names translation and analyzes the underlying culture reasons and classification of cultural vacancy. Five English translation strategies are designed for different cultural vacancy phenomena to promote cross-cultural communication.
