Zhuxi's Acceptance of Mei Yaochen's Poetry

南宋理学家朱熹对梅尧臣诗歌的接受态度基本是否定的,他一改梅诗的"平淡"说法,而说"枯槁",又说梅诗"平庸",多是"上门骂人"。这种看法跟宋代绝大多数诗人对梅诗的接受态度大相径庭,究其原因,主要是朱熹因自身固有的思维定势及文艺观念导致朱熹对梅尧臣诗歌的不喜爱。

Zhu Xi, scholar of the South Song Dynasty, held a negative view in accepting Mei Yaochen＇s poems. He criticized Mei＇s poems as being＂withered＇and ＂mediocre＂ instead of being ＂dull＂ and most of the criticisms were ＂faces - to - face cursing＂. The view of Zhu was widely divergent with the attitudes of most poets in the Song Dynasty, because of Zhu＇s inherent thinking model of comment and the difference in the concepts toward literature.
