图书馆学研究根据适用范围和概括程度分三个层次:方法论、一般方法、专门方法;根据研究方式可以分为思辨研究、实证研究、实地研究、历史研究;根据研究性质可以分为定性研究和定量研究;根据研究目的分基础研究、应用研究、发展研究;根据研究功能分为探索性研究、描述性研究、解释性研究。
According to the applicable scope and degree in library science, the research on it can be divided into three levels： methodology, general methods, special methods. According to the research mode, it can be divided into theoretical research, empirical research, field study, and historical research. According to the nature, it can be divided into qualitative research and quantitative research. According to the research purpose, it is divided into basic research, applied research and developing research. According to the function, it is divided into exploratory research, descriDtive study, and explanatory research.
