Notes of RUAN Yuan's The Notes of Collation of the Thirteen Classics with Annotations and Commentary

阮元《十三经注疏校勘记》,于经书博采众本,但经过校勘发现,其校勘所用《史记》并非善本,所举异文的准确性不高。阮校据误本《史记》,纠正经书,因此多有讹误。比如阮校出经、传作某,云《史记》此处有异文,但今检日本所藏古本《史记》恰与经、传相合,再加上他校资料,足以证明阮校所引《史记》有误。又如阮校所出经、传作某,云《史记》同,但日本所藏古本《史记》及他校资料此处却存在异文。故参稽《史记》众本及其他古籍,以作订补。

When RUAN Yuan wrote The Notes of Collation of the Thirteen Classics with Annotations and Commentary,he referred to many kinds of Classics,but at the same time he only used the Common Edition of the Historical Records as proof.Using the Common Edition,he claimed that there are errors in the Classics.However,later,the Ancient and Rare Edition of the Historical Records was unearthed.If the Ancient and Rare edition is compared to the Classics,the errors that RUAN noted no longer exist.To determine the corrections,many kinds of reference books,including a later unearthed edition of the Ancient and Rare Historical Records,were consulted to modify RUAN＇s work.
